Although coaching and counselling both serve to help you overcome difficulties, they have a different focus:
Counselling is coping orientated and focuses on understanding and healing emotional trauma and pain carried through from past experiences and events. A counsellor or psychotherapist will help you to recognise how you feel and help you to develop coping strategies so that you can move forward.
Coaching is action orientated and is focussed on identifying goals and what you’d like from your future. Most coaches will deliver their services via a structured programme. A coach will help you to recognise what you truly think and will give you the insight and tools needed to improve your mental and physical well-being.
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people manage problems by changing their thoughts and behaviours. It's based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are closely linked and influence each other.
CBT aims to help people identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and learn to approach problems in a different way. CBT is problem-oriented and focuses on working through specific, current problems.
The sessions can improve your physical and mental health, emotional well-being, and financial wellness, through a structured programme of exercises and tools that will help you to:
Sessions are usually 45 minutes long and held via Zoom, ideally at a set time once per week to maximise focus and effort.

Hi, I'm Mirelle and I'm a certified life coach. I started coaching because I believe that every woman has the power to achieve her goals and create the life she desires.
You're here because something isn't good enough - so let's change that.
I can help you to understand the negative thoughts and behaviours that are holding you back or causing distress, so that you can overcome these and find inner calm, positive energy and a new outlook on life.
It's about your future and where you want to go from here. Although there are elements of therapy and mentoring in my approach, coaching focuses on setting goals, creating outcomes and managing personal change.
I am a Certified Coach, trained via the Clique Academy who are an ICF (International Coach Federation) certified institute, however, the training journey as a coach never ends, there's always more to learn and understand about ourselves and how our minds work! A lot of my ongoing training now focuses on mental health and Cognitivate Behavioural Therapy, alongside the Law of Attraction... so a good mix of science + the power of the universe :)
I think that what makes me a good coach and therapist is my compassionate and non-judgmental nature and ability to motivate and energise people who aren't sure what the next step is. Having been through an upsetting childhood, a tough divorce and mental health challenges, on top of raising my children and running my own business, I feel that my passion for life and my drive to always 'do more' helps me to empower others, too.
I believe in the Law of Attraction and that we get more of what we focus on. Visualisation and manifestation are hugely powerful and have helped me to overcome stress and anxiety which held me back for a long time. I also believe that true change comes not just from setting goals, but from understanding the underlying beliefs and patterns that may be holding us back - things that we might not realise lurk beneath the surface, or things that we thought we had deal with years ago...I've been lucky enough to experience what it's like to be in tune with my higher self: it take hard work to get there and constant work (healthy habits) to stay in that space. I'm excited to help others find their way there, too!
